Free SEO checker
Paste a page address. The editor checks whether Google, Bing and AI search tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity can crawl it, index it and quote it, and tells you what to fix.
What the checker looks at
The checks an SEO consultant runs first on a page that doesn't show up, in about ten seconds.
- Can it be indexed
- Status code, redirects, noindex tags and headers, and the canonical address Google is told to use.
- robots.txt rules
- Whether Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search) and PerplexityBot are allowed on this exact page.
- Sitemap
- Whether your sitemap exists and lists the page, so search engines find it without waiting for links.
- Content crawlers can read
- How much text is in the HTML itself. Pages built only with JavaScript look empty to most AI crawlers.
- Title and description
- Length and presence of the title tag and meta description that make up your search result.
- Structure and sharing
- H1, language, mobile viewport, structured data, image alt text and Open Graph tags.
Questions
Why is my page not indexed by Google?
The usual causes are a noindex tag, a robots.txt rule that blocks Googlebot, a canonical pointing to another address, a page missing from the sitemap, or content too thin to be worth indexing. The checker shows the first four on any page. For new sites, Google can also simply take a few weeks. More in why blog posts aren't indexed.
Does blocking GPTBot remove my site from ChatGPT?
No. GPTBot collects data for model training. ChatGPT search uses a different crawler, OAI-SearchBot, and OpenAI treats the two settings separately. The checker tells you which one your robots.txt blocks.
Is this the same as Search Console's URL inspection?
No. The checker reads your public page the way a crawler does, with no account needed. Search Console's URL inspection shows Google's own record of the page, including whether it is indexed. Use both: the checker for a quick audit, Search Console for Google's verdict.
What should I fix first?
Anything marked Fix: a blocked crawler, a noindex tag or an error status keeps the page out of search completely. Then the Check items, starting with the canonical and the sitemap.
